Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Our school is an important part of the wider safeguarding system for children.

To keep our students as safe as we can, Islamia Girls School is committed to working closely with children, families, and statutory agencies. We strive to provide a secure and supportive environment where all children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our staff receive Level One Safeguarding training at least once a year. Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) receive Level Three Safeguarding Training once every two years. Our Headteacher and DSLs are fully equipped to manage and coordinate child protection activity at Islamia Girls School.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  • Providing help and support to meet the needs of children as soon as a problem emerges.
  • Protecting children from maltreatment.
  • Preventing the impairment of children’s mental and physical health and development
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of
  • safe and effective care.
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes in life.
